Hendley, I just noticed Peru has ten-team baseball league. From the names of several teams, the Japanese influence is obvious.

Not much of one, though i’ve never really looked. In northernmost Chile many of the old nitrate company towns have baseball fields—often literally sandlots. The perennial champion is Tocopilla, which has a very nice ocean-view ballpark.
