Beginning to think that this might be Doc’s best season, if he can get us over 90 wins, given the injuries to the starters, the injuries and poor performance of the pen, and an offense that suffered from poor years by Mookie, Freddie, and Teo, the disaster of Conforto, and injuries to Max and Willie.

It looked like he was off the bag with the tag still on him. But honestly, whatever. I don’t love the rule of coming off the bag for a nanosecond and getting called out.
Meh. They never used to worry about it unless the runner was trying to advance to the next base. And I was fine with that.
Yeah, but you have to call it, otherwise you give an advantage to the runner in allowing him to slide in a manner to get himself to the bag sooner but not to control his momentum to stay on the bag,
If it takes NY to make the call it probably should go back to the gum rule. If you pick up dropped gum quickly enough it’s deemed germs free.😀
Not that this game is out of reach, but honestly taking 3 out of 4 is fine. The Padres go from playing the White Sox to playing the Brewers. So that should be a bit tougher for them.
