Takes a bit of the pure joy out of tonight’s game but still a good win.

Why not just put in a pitcher to shut it down?

With 3 runs scored tonight, Shohei has 71 this season. If my math is correct, he is on pace to score 162 runs this year.

Kershaw drops his season era from 4.35 to 3.25. That seems pretty good.

Kershaw looking vintage this evening. Beautiful.

Very effective, but not exactly blowing them away.

Honest question: Does that matter? I mean if he is getting outs – and being efficient in his pitch count – does it matter he is not “blowing them away”? Also – he kinda is still with 5 k’s.

It was better than vintage considering where he is in his career.

Checking in late after dinner out for my daughter’s birthday. It looks as if I missed some good stuff, but I’m in blackout territory anyway. I expect I’ll enjoy the condensed game later.

I notice Fryers blew one big time to the Snakes.

Davis–curve ball kisses the sky and retires the side. Vinnie like.

Kershaw is using all his weapons this evening: slider, curve, and a 88mph fastball.

Both Giants pitchers have thrown more pitches (45 and 37 in 3 IP) than Kershaw (30 in 3 IP). Dodgers have seen 52 more pitches through 3 innings than the Gisnts.

Makes sense to walk Ohtani with first base open. Hopefully Mookie makes them pay – but Dodgers with bases loaded haven’t been good of late….

Until now!

Kershaw’s pitch count about to climb and then the double play and he escaped the first with a good count.

And now Ohtani comes through
