Clean outings have been rare for him lately after a pretty good start.

Not a fan of the challenge system. It is better than not using the ABS but I believe they should just use ABS full time and get all the calls correct.

Whether something is inside or outside the box is the bulk of a plate umps job, but not the totality. Just wonder how you keep someone behind the plate “in” the game to make the other calls if they are not calling balls and strikes as well.

A bit shaky in his first night back, but, I’ll take it.
Tucker should have caught that ball.

Great outing by Lauer.
Will be interesting to see if he gets traded. I would not trade him unless the return is considerable. Can use him thru the dog days to eat innings and give the other starters rest.

Then again, his value not going to be any higher than it is now on the market.

I don’t think the Dodgers need Skubal, but, they might get him to keep him from the other contenders that do.

It’s so wild that Betts, Tucker, and Teo are the 6,7,8 hitters. Kinda sad reflection on their at bats overall this year.

They have been very disappointing so far this year. Betts and Teo are on the backside of their careers and starting to decline. Tucker was just extremely overrated to begin with.

Glad for our depth. With many other teams they would be higher up in the order.

Lauer with a quicker second inning there.

To quote Jefferson in the musical Hamilton “So what did I miss?”
I was away helping out at a summer camp for a while. But it seems the Dodgers are still mostly rolling along smoothly.
Are people expecting the Dodgers to do much at the trade deadline?

Apart from Friedman saying that if there is a star available you gotta go for it as there is a limited number of them, catcher would seem like the area where help be needed. My take.

I thought I saw something about Smith finally feeling pain free. It would be great to have him back by late Aug or early Sept.

Hi Dave. Welcome back. I think AF will do something that surprises us. I have no idea what it might be. We could use another shutdown bullpen arm. A more reliable backup catcher might be in play.

Six runs was good. If either Pages or Teo stayed away from pitches that were way out of the strike zone, the Dodgers easily could have scored several more runs.

Pathetic. Doc needs to move Pages out of the 2 hole. Put Edman 2nd.
