The May 19th Post is up. Apparently I scheduled it for 12 00 and that meant midnight and not noon.

Even after recent disappointments, Dodgers still have best record in NL.

Disastrous series. Our pitchers have been awful, and our offense so uneven.

Gunna miss CT3, though it was painful to watch him this season and the first half of last season. Wasn’t too popular around here, even when he was on because big swing meant a bunch of Ks. Playing for peanuts he generated about WAR 3 a year from 2017-21. Had some big post season series and overall in 80 games put up OPS .791. Got big payday in 2022, but was probably only a $15 million player back in 2017-18 when he was generating WAR 4.5 per year. Had a good second half in 2024 and came up big in NLCS against the Mets, but couldn’t sustain performance this year.

Conforto’s line last 7 games line: .348.423.565
Good but zero RBI and Zero HR

last 15 games: .217.308.326
Zero HR, 1 RBI

Outman’s line last 7 games .105.150.263
1 HR, 1 RBI

Last 15 games: .125.222.375
2 HR, 4 RBI

As pathetic as Outman has been it might not be a slam dunk that he goes to OK and Conforto stays. Add defense and Edman’s injury and a very small case might be made that Edman could move to LF, Kim at 2B, and Outman in CF.

Teo in LF, Edman in CF, and Pages in RF is out best outfield. Kim at 2B.

I’ve got $17M reasons why it won’t ever happen. But I would be OK with it. Conforto sucks.

The Dodgers announced that outfielder Chris Taylor has been released, in order to open up roster space for Tommy Edman’s activation from the 10-day injured list.

This saddens me, as he had some great moments as a Dodger. I particularly remember his walk-off throw from LF to beat the Fryers in 2020. Kenley got the save.

All of his good moments came before he signed his big contract. Since 2022 he has been a complete bust. $60M down the drain.

He’s largely been unplayable since 2022 after falling off a cliff following his All-Star 2021 campaign. And it’s all come to a head the previous two years.

In 2024, Taylor registered a -0.1 WAR in 87 games with equal struggles on both sides of the ball. In 2025, across just 35 plate appearances, he was worth -0.5 WAR. Since the start of 2022, totaling 350 games, Taylor’s only been good for 1.6 WAR.

Game #47

Angels (19-25)
Dodgers (29-17)

SP Yusei Kikuchi L
0-4 3.72 ERA
vs
SP Tony Gonsolin R
2-0 2.81 ERA

Lineup:
DH S. Ohtani L
SS Mookie Betts R
C Will Smith R
1B F. Freeman L
RF Andy Pages R
CF Tommy Edman S
3B E. Hernandez R
LF M. Conforto L
2B Miguel Rojas R

72° Wind 9 mph Out

I would rather have Kim at 2B and Rushing in LF.
