Tossing in the towel in the 6th inning? Absurd.

Well I’m leaving this one in your capable hands. I have an early morning tomorrow.

I would love to see the Padres outscore the Dodgers by 12 or whatever runs over the 3 games – but lose the series.

On the bright side, Dodgers will have a well-rested pen tomorrow, and a day off before playing in SF.

Matt Sauer. Dodgers 2025 version of Brent Honeywell.

When you give up a dinger to Martín Maldonado, you don’t belong in in the majors.

The game is meh, but the commentary below is fabulous. Scoop, so glad you are back. Dave, likewise! I concur about everything, especially Outamn/Co for to, but for some reason the front office (and Doc?) have this tenacious loyalty to Conforto.

Why is Bobby Miller so ineffective ? 3+ innings and a bunch of hits and runs in his outing today. Sigh.

Still lots of game left tonight of course. But the best Dodger news of the day might be the bullpen work done by Ohtani and Snell today.

Maybe these runs could be contributed to all the foul balls in the previous inning.

3 free passes, 0 runs for the Dodgers
1 walk, 1 run for the Padres.

This is very un-scientific and merely my sense. But over the last 2 weeks or so, the Dodgers have not done very well with the bases loaded. I realize there were 2 outs there so you only get the one chance. But other times it had been with 1 or even no outs.

Well, for the season, their OPS in those situations is only ,504, which is by far the lowest compared to all other situations.

Greetings old friends. I hope that people are well. I know that WinnipegDave is facing a tough issue. I spoke with him a few days ago.

This has been an interesting season. Somehow, despite all the injuries to pitchers, we continue to cling onto first place, if barely. Freddie and Will are having great years. Pages has been more than a pleasant surprise. So has Edman. Mookie is having a good year, I think he’d hit better if he were back in right field. Muncy has improved considerably since he started wearing glasses. Kim has done far more than we expected, yet he is platooned although he is three-for-three against lefties. The less said about Conforto the better. Is Friedman trying to justify the $17 million contract by playing him daily? I expected more from Rushing, but it is hard to gauge his worth when he plays but one or two days per week. I think Rojas is no longer an asset. Honestly, I was not disappointed to see Barnes and Taylor depart.

I plan to post more regularly.

Taylor was getting a second life (third life) with the Angels but was hit by pitch and fractured his hand. Barnes looked like he lost the ability to throw a competitive throw to second base. He didn’t have a strong arm but his last few throws were really soft.

If Roberts can stomach Conforto then he should be able to stomach Outman. The latter would be the best defensive center fielder on the team and hit with the powner Conforto doesn’t have.

We need your input and Dave’s because we really miss Steve’s input.
